Maspalomas, Canary Islands Engagement // Evelyn & David

Have you ever been to a place where the mountains fall into a desert, and the desert falls into the ocean? I’m not talking about a dream, though for many that’s exactly what it is. It’s a real place, and we’ve been there.

This year has been a crazy one for us. We are now officially living in Spain, and man, is this place something else. When we first arrived we spent a few days in Barcelona for our Wanderers Workshop, and then we headed out to the island of Gran Canaria. We got to spend a lot of much needed time with our friends Don and Helen (and their adorable little one Emily!) and Don spent a lot of time showing us around his incredible home.

The island is a paradox in itself, parts are pure desert, and others are lush forest, parts are towering mountains and others are flat plains, there are even parts that are ancient lava flows leading off into the sea! It’s an incredible place, and we can’t wait to explore more of it along with the rest of Europe.

This was the day that we explored the desert sand dunes. Thank you so much Don for showing us around your epic home island, can’t wait to come see you again soon, and thank you so much to David and Evelyn for looking so damn good on this amazing day.
